Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany are both vying for a spot in the Champions League final this season.
In the summer, both clubs and their head honchos will be on the prowl to sign some of the best players in Europe to strengthen their respective squads.
Arsenal are fans of Anthony Gordon, a player who could potentially take them to the next level. With Gabriel Martinelli holding talks with PSG, he could very well depart the Emirates Stadium in the summer.
However, Bayern have spoken to Gordon’s representatives already as both clubs eye the English left-winger.
Vincent Kompany approves of Bayern Munich’s move for Arsenal target Anthony Gordon
Journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Kompany has approved of Bayern’s pursuit of Gordon.
It has been claimed that the Newcastle United speedster’s management have been in touch with the German giants for months.
However, reports around Bayern and Gordon’s agent holding talks at the club’s training ground last week are wide off the mark.

Newcastle will sell Gordon to Bayern if they fulfil their valuation of £75 million for the 25-year-old.
Arsenal could have an advantage over Bayern in Anthony Gordon race
However, as the report mentions, the Bundesliga champions have alternatives in place in case they are unable to pull off the deal.
Bayern deem Gordon overpriced, as do Arsenal, with both clubs viewing Newcastle’s valuation of £75 million as ‘prohibitive’ to sign the player.
However, Yan Diomande is Bayern’s top target, which could give the Gunners an advantage if they pay the big bucks to secure the Carabao Cup winner’s signature.
