The Fabio Vieira transfer has entered a stand-off after Hamburg confirmed they have submitted financial figures to Arsenal. The German club remain determined to re-sign the midfielder, but neither side has moved from its position.
Get German Football News reports that Hamburg chief financial officer Eric Huwer has publicly confirmed the offer. Huwer said the Bundesliga side had “fallen a little bit in love” with Vieira during his loan spell.
Hamburg believe they can make the Portuguese midfielder a competitive proposal within their financial limits. However, Arsenal have yet to indicate that they will accept the package currently on the table.
Huwer also admitted Hamburg would consider other players if Vieira and Arsenal reject their offer. The comments increase the pressure on Andrea Berta to decide how much he will accept for the 26-year-old.

Vieira became an important player for Hamburg last season. He scored seven Bundesliga goals and supplied five assists across 29 league appearances as the club retained its top-flight status.
Hamburg previously allowed their €22million purchase option to expire. They are now attempting to negotiate a lower fee that better suits their budget.
Arsenal have already refused to lower their Fabio Vieira valuation. The Gunners believe his productive loan spell has improved his market value and strengthened their negotiating position.
Vieira appears unlikely to become a regular starter under Mikel Arteta. Even so, Arsenal should avoid accepting a weak offer simply to complete another outgoing transfer.
A deal could still be structured through add-ons, instalments or a future sell-on clause. Those terms may help Hamburg meet Arsenal’s expectations without paying the full amount immediately.
For now, the Fabio Vieira transfer remains unresolved. Hamburg want him back, but Arsenal are showing no desire to reduce their demands.
