Arsenal are pushing hard to sign Crystal Palace striker Mylo Bernard after the highly rated 16-year-old reached the end of his contract. Palace have offered improved terms, but the Gunners are now attempting to bring the England youth international to Hale End.
The Secret Scout reports that Bernard’s Palace agreement expired last month. The Eagles remain hopeful of keeping the forward and have presented him with an improved offer.
Arsenal’s interest reflects their continued focus on recruiting leading young players from rival academies. The Gunners recently agreed a deal for former Tottenham defender Elijah Upson following his departure from Spurs.
However, Arsenal have also lost academy prospects this summer. Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign midfielder Mishel Nduka after the 16-year-old rejected a new scholarship offer at Hale End.

Bernard has progressed quickly through Palace’s academy and made his Under-18 debut while still eligible for the Under-16 side. He scored after four minutes during a 4-2 victory over Leicester City in November.
The striker’s official Palace profile credits him with six goals across 12 Under-18 appearances. He also scored a hat-trick during a comeback victory over Reading in March.
Bernard has represented England at Under-16 level and previously produced three goals and an assist against the Netherlands. His performances have helped establish him as one of Palace’s leading academy prospects.
Palace will continue trying to convince Bernard that his development is best served in south London. Arsenal can offer another elite academy environment, although the competition for places at Hale End remains intense.
No agreement has been reported. However, Arsenal’s determination leaves Palace facing a significant decision over another highly rated London academy player.
