Arsenal have unveiled their 2026/27 away kit, drawing on one of the most recognisable designs in the club’s history. The new Arsenal away kit is inspired by the “Bruised Banana” strip worn between 1991 and 1993 and is available now.
The club launched the shirt under the theme “Every Shirt Has a Story”. Arsenal’s campaign focuses on the personal memories which shape a supporter’s relationship with the club, from childhood influences to major moments on the pitch.
Arsenal said the design brings the spirit of the original Bruised Banana shirt into the modern era. The distinctive early-1990s pattern has been reworked rather than reproduced, giving adidas another opportunity to use the club’s archive as the basis for a contemporary kit.

The campaign references the Invincibles, Dennis Bergkamp’s famous goal, Declan Rice’s free-kicks and the journey through Hale End. It also recognises supporters whose connection began through family and Arsenal chants heard from a young age.
The shirt follows the release of Arsenal’s new home strip in May. ReadArsenal previously covered how the 2026/27 home kit marked 20 years since the club moved to Emirates Stadium.
Both releases lean heavily on Arsenal’s history, although they take their inspiration from different periods. The home design reflects the club’s Emirates era, while the away shirt returns to a kit closely associated with the early 1990s.
The original Bruised Banana became one of Arsenal’s most recognisable away shirts and remains popular among supporters. Its return as an influence gives the latest release an immediate connection to the club’s past.
The new Arsenal away kit is available through Arsenal Direct and the club’s retail stores. It will be worn during the 2026/27 campaign as Mikel Arteta’s side prepare for the new season.
