Arsenal confirm Leandro Trossard transfer to Besiktas

Arsenal have confirmed that Leandro Trossard has completed a permanent transfer to Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas.

The Belgium international leaves after making 174 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners. He scored 36 goals and registered 34 assists following his arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023.

Sky Sports reports that Besiktas will pay an initial £15.3m, with a further £1.7m available through add-ons.

Trossard has signed a three-year contract in Istanbul, while the Turkish club hold an option for another season. The transfer remains subject to the completion of regulatory processes.

The 31-year-old contributed several important moments during his time at the Emirates Stadium. He scored a stoppage-time equaliser against Manchester City in the 2023 Community Shield before Arsenal won on penalties.

Trossard leaves Arsenal as a Premier League winner

Trossard also played an important role in Arsenal’s 2025/26 Premier League title success.

His decisive goal away to West Ham United helped Mikel Arteta’s side remain on course for the championship during the closing stages of the campaign.

The forward had one year remaining on his Arsenal contract. His departure gives the club space to refresh the left side of Arteta’s attack before the new season.

Christos Tzolis is among the players being considered as a possible replacement. Morgan Rogers and Bradley Barcola have also been linked with moves to north London.

As Read Arsenal reported before the transfer was completed, Trossard had approved the move before travelling to Istanbul for his medical.

Arsenal thanked Trossard for his contribution and wished him well in Turkey. He leaves as a Premier League winner after providing 70 direct goal contributions during his time with the club.
