While big-name signings were made at the start of the 2025/26 season in order to bolster the Arsenal attack, the players signed have not gotten off to the flying starts they may have hoped for.
While Viktor Gyokeres has shown that he can have confidence up front and can be a lot to handle for opposition players, a lot of problems this season for the club seem to come from the flanks.
Only one goal for left-sided winger Gabriel Martinelli, a season disrupted by injury for Bukayo Saka, doubts over which position is best for Eberechi Eze, as well as output issues for Saka’s backup Noni Madueke, have left Arsenal with complicated issues on both wings.
A dynamic star who can play across any of the front three positions has emerged as an option for the Gunners, and is a name that a lot of Premier League fans will at least be familiar with.
Karim Adeyemi could be sold for a cut-price deal by Dortmund, and Arsenal are interested
Karim Adeyemi has become a name to know at Borussia Dortmund, having joined the club in 2022 and successfully establishing himself as an important player since then.
Valued at £60 million by the German club at one point, it seems the 24-year-old’s disciplinary issues have tanked his stock somewhat, and that this valuation has dropped slightly.
Adeyemi has seven goals and four assists in 26 matches so far in this year’s Bundesliga campaign, which on paper is solid. Dortmund manager Niko Kovac, however, is displeased with the winger for attitude issues in terms of actions when being substituted off, as well as an incident at the German national team camp at the end of last year.
SportsBoom reports that both Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in the ex-RB Salzburg man, with add-ons involved if the player is to get a Premier League move.
How would Adeyemi fit into the Arsenal system?
It seems as if Adeyemi would be bought in as somewhat of a maverick and wildcard for the Arsenal frontline, with his pace and chaos elements adding a sense of swagger to an attack so often criticised for lacking a sense of urgency and intensity.
He would provide a sense of competition to Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli on the left-hand side, with one of the aforementioned players potentially being sold in the next transfer window to make space for a new signing.
