Arsenal to offer Bellerin new contract

Hector Bellerin has become one of the best young players in Europe over the last year-and-a-half. A Barcelona native, Bellerin had a superb second season – first full season – for Arsenal, resulting in his inclusion in the ‘PFA Team of the Year’.

His performances for Arsenal have also resulted in Spanish international coach, Vicente Del Bosque, calling up Bellerin for the upcoming European Championships. Due to his outstanding season, the 21-year-old has been linked with a move back to Barcelona in the last few months.

Recently, however Bellerin has declared his interest at remaining at Arsenal. In order to keep one of the best young talents in Europe, the Mirror has reported that Arsenal will offer the right-back a new contract.

Bellerin’s current contract runs out in 2019 but Arsenal are desperate to ward off any interest from other clubs and tie down one of their best players. It seems Arsenal are confident of signing Bellerin to a new deal, as they will also attempt to sign Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to new deals.

Although Barcelona have ruled out signing Bellerin, it still remains essential to tie the young right-back down to a new long-term deal.
