Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is to take over from Kwame Ampadu next season as the under-18s assistant manager.
It was reported on Monday afternoon that current under-18s boss Frans De Kat is set to leave his role at the end of the season to take up a position with the Dutch FA.
According to Goal, the vacant role will be taken up by Ampadu, while the club’s all-time goalscorer Thierry Henry will make the step up as the assistant manager to the ex-Arsenal star.
Henry recently passed his Uefa A coaching license with the Welsh FA and has been helping out with both the under-18s and under-16s in a part-time coaching role.
The Frenchman has been touted to be future manager of the first-team and could take over when Arsene Wenger leaves, which could happen in 2017 if he does not sign a new contract.
Despite the rumours linking him with the possibility of becoming first-team manager, he is unlikely to take up the role without learning the trade and an initial role with the under-18s makes sense.
