Arsenal eye up shock move for Ayoze Perez

According to reports in the Daily Star, Arsenal and Manchester United are eyeing up a shock move for Newcastle United’s in-form striker Ayoze Perez.

The Newcastle striker has been in good form so far this season, netting five goals in just 11 starts. He was at Tenerife before joining the North East club in the summer of this year.

Perez’s versatility and youth are what has attracted the attention of Arsenal and Manchester United. He has represented Spain at under-21 level and will be looking to make the step up to the full team in the next few years. Playing at a elite club would undoubtedly help with that.

Newcastle United are a team that often sell their best players and cash in. Even though Perez joined in the summer a move for him in the next few windows shouldn’t be ruled out. The Magpies are also having to fend off interest from big clubs for another one of their stars, with Moussa Sissoko the subject of interest from Arsenal and other European level clubs.

It is not yet known how Alan Pardew’s departure will affect current players at the club, but a change in manager can often see a change in personel on the pitch.

This could be one for the summer, however, as Arsenal look set to focus on the other end of the pitch with Winston Reid and Loic Perrin higher on the club’s list of targets. Whatever happens, it looks as if the rumours will continue to build around Arsenal.
