Arsenal Women have completed the permanent signing of teenage winger Lisa Baum from RB Leipzig.
The 19-year-old has signed a three-year contract, with Arsenal holding an option for a further season. She will wear the number 19 shirt.
Baum becomes Renée Slegers’ fifth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Georgia Stanway, Selina Cerci, Géraldine Reuteler and Ona Batlle.
Arsenal’s official announcement confirmed that the forward scored six goals across 26 appearances for Leipzig last season. Her performances helped the club remain in the Frauen-Bundesliga and attracted interest from several major European sides.
Baum gives Arsenal another direct wide threat
Slegers described Baum as a young forward who will bring “direct intent and athleticism” to Arsenal’s attacking group.
The German youth international is comfortable carrying the ball at defenders and attacking space from wide positions. Her pace should give Arsenal another option against teams that defend deep and restrict central areas.
ReadArsenal previously covered how Selina Cerci’s arrival strengthened Slegers’ final-third options, with that report also noting Arsenal’s earlier pursuit of Baum.
The two German arrivals offer different qualities. Cerci provides proven penalty-box movement and finishing, while Baum is more likely to progress possession through direct running from the flanks.
Baum began her senior career with Hamburger SV and helped the club climb from Germany’s third tier to the Bundesliga. She moved to Leipzig last summer before establishing herself during her first top-flight campaign.
Her arrival continues an aggressive rebuild following the departures of Mead and Katie McCabe.
Arsenal have added experience through Batlle and Stanway, but Baum represents a longer-term investment. Slegers will be expected to manage her minutes carefully while helping one of Germany’s leading young attackers adjust to the Women’s Super League.
