Arsenal have identified Morgan Rogers as one of their primary transfer targets for this summer, and have already begun laying the groundwork for a potential deal.
The Gunners are keen on adding another versatile attacking player who can be deployed as a number ten or as a wide forward. The likes of Julian Alvarez, Junior Kroupi and Bradley Barcola have been heavily linked, although Aston Villa’s talisman appears to be the priority.
Arsenal are reportedly in ‘pole position’ to land Rogers, who may cost them in excess of £85 million. Andrea Berta has already initiated contact with the 23-year-old’s representatives ahead of the move, and the deal could accelerate once England’s involvement in the World Cup comes to an end.
With that said, here are four Arsenal players who would be impacted by the signing of Rogers.

Winners from Arsenal signing Morgan Rogers
Viktor Gyokeres

For a lot of this season, Arsenal’s ponderous build-up in and around the box meant the space wasn’t created for Viktor Gyokeres to exploit in behind. Although Gyokeres ultimately ended the campaign with 21 goals – a promising return for a debut season – he spent the period up until Christmas struggling to get chances.
While Rogers may not be an excellent creative passer, his ability to shoot accurately and powerfully from range, as well as to drive through the heart of midfield, will draw opposition defenders towards him.
This should create more space for Gyokeres, as Rogers’ long-range threat will need extra attention. Someone like Martin Odegaard no longer really holds this gravitas from shooting positions, with opposition choosing to stand off the Norwegian and compress the space, as they know his primary threat is passes in behind.
Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka has suffered somewhat over the last two years from being Arsenal’s primary attacking outlet. Opposition teams know the threat he poses, and know the lack of threat other players in Mikel Arteta’s side pose.
Thus, teams have doubled up on Saka, preventing him from being able to influence games as much as possible. The presence of Rogers could change this.
If the opposition vacate central areas to focus on Saka, that will leave plenty of room for Rogers to run into and take shots, and vice versa. Arsenal need more direct threats all over the pitch.
Losers from Arsenal signing Morgan Rogers
Eberechi Eze

In a way, Rogers is a younger and more explosive version of Eberechi Eze. Both players’ primary skillsets are their carrying through central areas and shooting from distance.
With Eze starting to lose some of that burst as he enters the second half of his career, Rogers probably has more spring to him. Both players are also predominantly number tens who can be used out on the left.
If Rogers arrives, that surely creates some redundancy with Eze, who will no longer boast a unique profile in Arsenal’s squad.
Ethan Nwaneri

Arsenal already have a surplus of number tens at the club. Alongside Odegaard and Eze, Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri are still on the North Londoners’ books.
Given Dowman’s standing as one of the most prodigious young talents in the country, he’s unlikely to make way for someone like Rogers. Nwaneri, however, could find himself surplus to requirements if the England international arrives this summer.
Like Eze and Rogers, Nwaneri’s best attributes are his ball-striking and dribbling. He hasn’t developed his passing game yet, which makes him less valuable to Arsenal and more vulnerable in the squad than someone like Odegaard.
