Manchester City and Arsenal could go toe-to-toe in the summer transfer window, with a whole host of players across world football dreaming of playing for the two best sides in the country.

Sandro Tonali intrigues City and Arsenal and come the summer, perhaps both sides could be ready to lock horns to secure his services.

Regardless of which team wins the Premier League title this season, both Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta will be hoping that their respective side can get a leg-up over the other in the transfer market.

The attack is the Gunners’ Achilles heel and as a result, Arsenal have targeted Yan Diomande among several top-class wingers across Europe.

However, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool are keen on signing Diomande, with his representatives speaking to both clubs. Arne Slot’s side view the 19-year-old as Mohamed Salah’s successor, with the two-time Premier League winner set to depart Anfield at the end of the 2025/2026 season.

Sky Sports News have now revealed that Manchester City are interested in signing Diomande as well, with Pep Guardiola and Co aiming to bolster their attacking options in the summer.

As a result, AFC Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi is also on City’s shortlist.

Ultimately, the youngster’s decision when it comes to join either club might hinge on who comes out on top in the title race.

Currently, City have the edge on Arsenal as they are sitting pretty at the top of the table, purely due to having scored more goals so far.

However, another reason why Manchester City might back their chances to land Diomande is due to his admiration for Jeremy Doku.

The highly-rated dribbler was asked to pick between some of the best wingers in the world.

Diomande claimed Doku was better than Desire Doue, Nico Williams and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and at the Etihad Stadium, he could get the chance to line up alongside the Belgian international.
