Arsenal want Morgan Rogers as a priority attacking target, with the Gunners now pushing to find a deal with Aston Villa.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Arsenal have made progress on the player’s side, while Villa’s £130m valuation remains the major obstacle.
Football365 relayed Romano’s update, with Arsenal hoping to negotiate through add-ons or a different payment structure.
Rogers has become one of the Premier League’s most attractive young attackers after an outstanding spell at Villa. His ability to play from the left, carry the ball through midfield and operate centrally makes him a natural fit for Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal’s interest also comes at a time when Arteta wants more power and variety in the final third.
Villa Price Still Shapes Arsenal Move
The key issue remains Villa’s stance.
A £130m deal would place huge pressure on Arsenal’s summer budget. It would also require a structure that protects the club’s wider transfer plans.
ReadArsenal recently covered Arsenal’s opening Premier League schedule, with Arteta’s title defence starting quickly against Coventry City.
That context makes this pursuit more interesting. Arsenal do not have a slow start in which to ease new signings into the squad.
Rogers would arrive as a major statement signing if Arsenal can get close to Villa’s demands. For now, the player-side progress looks encouraging, but the fee still decides how far the deal can go.
