It could be a monumental season for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal as they remain fighting on three fronts despite losing the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City last Sunday – and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is among the club’s summer targets.
The Georgian winger, who moved to Paris from Naples in January 2025, has been a consistent terror on the left flank for Luis Enrique.
Naturally, his sharp form on the wing has drawn the attention of some of Europe’s elite clubs – including the Gunners, who are reportedly eyeing a move for the 25-year-old this summer.

It’s a position that is in dire need of strengthening come the end of the campaign given that neither Gabriel Martinelli nor Leandro Trossard have pulled up trees to the extent needed for a team fighting for trophies.
Romano provides telling update on Kvaratskhelia to Arsenal
Even Nigel Winterburn, a former defender for the Londoners, is a big fan of the Georgia international. He said: “Kvaratskhelia, boy oh boy, if he knocked on the door and said I want to come to Arsenal, I don’t think many people would say no. I think they’d be saying, if we can afford you, come on in.”
If Arsenal do manage to fend off the competition and sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, it would be a massive upgrade on Arsenal’s options off the left.
The Gunners spent around the £250 million mark last summer and are reportedly required to sell at least one first-teamer as a result – but upgrading the left wing department will need to be addressed this time around.
Despite reports that Arsenal are investigating a move for the one-time Champions League winner, Romano has poured cold water on said rumours.

“He’s captaining Georgia, performing brilliantly, and doing a fantastic job at Paris Saint-Germain. Honestly, maybe even underrated because sometimes people forget just how consistent he’s been for PSG,” he said on his YouTube channel.
“There have been rumours again about Arsenal being interested. But my understanding is crystal clear: PSG have no intention to open talks for Kvaratskhelia this summer.
“They love him – his attitude, professionalism, consistency. And remember, he joined from Napoli only 14 months ago, in January 2025. So PSG want to enjoy him much longer.
“Of course, Arsenal are expected to strengthen up front – maybe a striker, maybe a winger – but not Kvaratskhelia. Nothing concrete between Arsenal and PSG on this one,” Romano said in his important transfer update.
If not Kvaratskhelia, who are Arsenal targeting?
Unless they break the bank with world-record fee, it seems that Arsenal won’t be getting their hands on Kvaratskhelia this summer. The contracts of Trossard and Martinelli both expire in 2027 – and Anthony Gordon is among those admired.
The Newcastle United star, albeit a winger by trade, can also play in the centre-forward position if push came to shove.
Sky Sports have reported that Gordon, who has scored 17 times for the Magpies this campaign, is among the list of names that Arsenal are targeting for the left wing spot.
Interestingly, when quizzed about the best England players of all time by DAZN, Gordon put Bukayo Saka above Newcastle hero Alan Shearer. Watch that clip below:
Much of Arsenal’s time has been spent on their pursuit of Atletico Madrid and Argentina frontman Julian Alvarez, who could occupy a hybrid role on the left if necessary – and that’s despite him being a striker.
That said, reports have now suggested that Diego Simeone and the rest of the Atleti higher-ups are keen to see the 26-year-old extend his stay in the Spanish capital as a means of ending any exit rumours.
