- The player in question’s contract expires in 2027.
Arsenal may be on the precipice of an exceptional season, as Mikel Arteta’s team sit nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table, but sporting director Andrea Berta has already turned his attention to strengthening the Gunners’ squad this summer.
The North London outfit are on the verge of winning the title for the first time in 22 years, while they remain in both the Champions League and the FA Cup. Despite being on course for a remarkable treble, Berta and Arteta aren’t prepared to rest on their laurels.
While Julian Alvarez has been identified as a potential marquee addition, and Sandro Tonali continues to be linked with a switch to the Emirates, Arsenal appear to be looking to initiate moves for some younger prospects.
Arsenal send proposal to PSG midfielder Senny Mayulu
Arsenal have been loosely linked with the likes of Bradley Barcola and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in recent months. Paris Saint-Germain have an excess of wide forwards, and thus, one of these players could look for a move in the summer.
However, these aren’t the only PSG players the Gunners are seemingly monitoring. According to French publication Media Foot, Arsenal have sent a ‘proposal’ to 19-year-old midfielder Senny Mayulu, who plies his trade at the Parc des Princes.
Mayulu’s current deal with the Ligue 1 club is set to expire at the end of the 2026/27 season. PSG have reportedly offered the youngster an extension, although he’s yet to put pen to paper on this offer.

Arsenal are looking to pounce on this uncertainty, and Media Foot believe that they’ve already initiated contact with Mayulu’s representatives.
The same outlet indicate that PSG are lining up a move for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi – a deal which would further push Mayulu down Luis Enrique’s pecking order. The likes of Vitinha, Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz and Warren Zaire-Emery are already ahead of the Arsenal target, so the addition of Bouaddi could prompt him to consider the Gunners’ proposal.
Mayulu has started just 16 Ligue 1 games this term, and given his standing as one of the most exciting young midfielders in Europe, he may be interested in a move to a club which can offer him significantly more game time.
Would Senny Mayulu be a good signing for Arsenal?
FlashGoal Sport believe PSG would demand a fee in the region of €60-70 million (£52-61 million). This is a significant sum for a relatively unproven player, so Arsenal will have to make sure they do their due diligence before submitting a bid for the player.
That said, it’s possible that the Gunners look to capitalise on Mayulu’s contract uncertainty and land him for free next summer. This would be the sensible move, allowing him to develop for another season in France before acquiring his services without having to stump up a transfer fee.
| Statistical Comparison 2025/26 (League Only) | ||
| Stat | Rice | Mayulu |
| Appearances | 30 | 19 |
| Pass Accuracy | 87.8% | 89.4% |
| Touches per 90 | 81.02 | 53.3 |
| Duels Won per 90 | 4.21 | 5.1 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.21 | 0.14 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 2.02 | 2 |
| Interceptions per 90 | 1.04 | 0.44 |
| Tackles per 90 | 1.98 | 2.81 |
The issue is likely to be that, if he becomes available for free, there will be significant competition for the prospect. Arsenal’s initial proposal will therefore need to be convincing enough for the Frenchman to reject a number of other potential suitors.
Mayulu is an exceptional passer, while he’s also outstanding off-the-ball. He has the right mould of attributes to thrive in the Premier League and in Arteta’s system, although he’s likely too raw to play significant minutes in the English top flight at this stage of his career.
Ultimately, if Arsenal can indeed land him for free, then it would be a deal worth doing, but for upwards of £60 million, they should consider other options.
