Arsenal are on course for a historic season, as Mikel Arteta’s team hunt down a remarkable and unprecedented quadruple – and they’re likely to beat several long-established records in the process.
The Gunners sit seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table with eight matches left to play, although second-placed Manchester City do have a game in hand over Arteta’s side. Meanwhile, the North Londoners are in the Carabao Cup final, the FA Cup quarter-finals, and have a Champions League last 16 tie against Bayer Leverkusen to look forward to.
Arteta’s team may not be popular due to their functional style of play, but the Spaniard and his players are delivering results, in what could ultimately prove to be the most illustrious campaign in Arsenal’s modern history.

Arsenal close to beating club record
After spending £250 million in the summer transfer window and subsequently accruing squad depth few clubs in the world can boast, Arsenal were expected to compete for the Premier League title and be in the latter stages of the Champions League.
However, few could have predicted that Arteta’s men would be in the position that they currently find themselves in at this stage of the campaign. The Gunners are on the precipice of something special, with a quadruple genuinely on the cards.
They’re also close to beating a club record that would signify just how good this current iteration of Arsenal is, even if they don’t go on to win major honours. The North Londoners have won 36 games across all competitions this term, with 20 of these victories coming in the Premier League, eight in the Champions League, five in the Carabao Cup and three in the FA Cup.
The club’s record number of wins across all competitions in a single season is currently 39, achieved under Arsene Wenger in the 2001/02 campaign. Thus, Arteta’s current outfit need just three more victories to level this record, while they need four to surpass it and make modern history.

Arsenal can break club record by beating Manchester City
Not only can Arsenal break this record before the run-in even starts, but they can do so in style. The Gunners visit Leverkusen on Wednesday night, before hosting Everton on Saturday evening.
If they secure wins in both of these fixtures, they’ll have the opportunity to match the record when they host Leverkusen in the second leg next Tuesday at the Emirates.
Then comes the Carabao Cup final. Not only will Arteta and his players have the chance to win their first piece of silverware since 2020, but they will also have the opportunity to break this record (assuming they’ve won their previous three fixtures).
Victory over City at Wembley could prove to be a significant day in Arsenal’s history, and with upwards of 15 games left to play after that, who knows how far this Gunners team could go in cementing their place at the top of this win list.
