The report goes on to add that a move to the Camp Nou in January would be a difficult one to pull off, but it doesn’t exactly rule it out either.
Much of Aubameyang’s future will depend on Arsenal’s Champions League hopes.
For now, Arsenal will feel confident about their chances of keeping the player beyond January. However, if the Gunners continue to fall away from the top four then the striker may have a decision to make.
He is up there with the best strikers in European football and at 30 years of age, he’ll be fully aware that he’s approaching the final stages of his career. Nobody will argue that he’s a player that deserves to be playing in Europe’s elite competition.
The hope will be that he can still achieve that at Arsenal, as it will be a killer blow to lose him now.
Arsenal have relied heavily on him this season and they’d struggle to find a suitable replacement without seriously splashing the cash.
