Arsenal Women Confirm Geraldine Reuteler Signing

Arsenal Women have confirmed the permanent signing of Swiss midfielder Geraldine Reuteler, adding another senior multi-role option to Renee Slegers’ squad.

The 27-year-old arrives from Eintracht Frankfurt after a long spell in the Frauen Bundesliga. Her move continues a major summer reset at London Colney.

Arsenal have already strengthened their attack with Selina Cerci. The Guardian reported that Cerci joined from Hoffenheim after scoring 34 goals in 47 matches for the German club.

Reuteler gives Slegers a different profile. She can operate as a No.8, a wide forward or a more advanced connector between midfield and attack.

The Swiss international brings serious end product too. The Guardian previously credited Reuteler with 54 goals and 45 assists in 184 Frankfurt appearances while reporting on Arsenal’s wider midfield rebuild.

Slegers Gets Another Flexible Arsenal Option

Reuteler’s value is not built around one fixed position. That is what makes the signing useful for Arsenal.

She has years of Bundesliga experience and enough versatility to cover several matchday needs. That should help Slegers through a demanding WSL and Champions League campaign.

Arsenal have lost established experience this summer. The club needed additions who could raise the floor without locking the team into one midfield structure.

Georgia Stanway’s expected arrival also changes the balance. The Guardian reported in May that Arsenal had agreed a deal to sign Stanway from Bayern Munich, with Reuteler also close to joining at that stage.

Reuteler now adds another layer. She can rotate across midfield and forward zones, support the press and give Arsenal another player comfortable between the lines.

This is not a cosmetic signing. Arsenal are rebuilding around versatility, Champions League depth and week-to-week tactical adaptability.

For supporters, the headline is clear. Arsenal are not just replacing departures. They are widening Slegers’ matchday solutions before a demanding campaign.

The supplied tactical breakdown on YouTube also frames why Reuteler could fit Arsenal’s system, particularly as a flexible attacking midfielder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JXVgf-zZaQ
