Arsenal will begin their 2026/27 Premier League title defence at home to Coventry City on Friday 21 August, with the fixture selected for an 8pm Sky Sports broadcast.
The Premier League confirmed the full 380-match schedule on Friday, putting Mikel Arteta’s side first up in the new campaign after the Gunners were listed as defending champions in the league’s own fixture release. Arsenal’s opener at Emirates Stadium is followed by a trip to Aston Villa on Saturday 29 August, before an early London heavyweight meeting with Chelsea on Saturday 5 September.
Arsenal handed early Chelsea test after Coventry curtain-raiser
The shape of the opening month gives Arsenal a quick mix of expectation and jeopardy. A home match against newly promoted Coventry City will be framed around setting the tone immediately, but the visit of Chelsea in matchweek three ensures there is little room for a slow start.
Arsenal’s first north London derby of the season is away at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 5 December, with the return fixture at Emirates Stadium scheduled for Saturday 1 May. Manchester City visit Arsenal on Saturday 28 November, before the reverse fixture at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 30 January.
The final day also carries a neat edge for Arteta’s side, with Arsenal due to host Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday 30 May. The full list of Arsenal fixtures was published in the Premier League’s official club-by-club fixture release.
All fixtures remain subject to change, but the headline is already clear: Arsenal’s title defence starts under the Friday-night lights, with Chelsea arriving before September has properly settled.
