Arsenal to Open 2026/27 Premier League Season at Home to Coventry City

Arsenal will begin the 2026/27 Premier League season at home to Coventry City on Friday 21 August, with the Premier League confirming the full 380-match schedule for the new campaign.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been handed the opening night slot at Emirates Stadium, with kick-off listed for 20:00 UK time and Sky Sports coverage attached to the fixture.

The match places the defending champions at the centre of the first weekend, while Coventry’s return to the top flight adds a clear promoted-club storyline to Arsenal’s curtain-raiser.

Arsenal’s Early Fixture List Gives Supporters Immediate Markers

The fixture release also sets out several early reference points for Arsenal supporters. After Coventry, Arsenal travel to Aston Villa on Saturday 29 August before hosting Chelsea on Saturday 5 September.

Arsenal then go to Sunderland on Saturday 12 September and Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday 19 September, giving Arteta a mix of newly promoted opposition, a London rivalry and two awkward away assignments inside the first month.

The first north London derby is scheduled away at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 5 December, while the reverse fixture at Emirates Stadium is listed for Saturday 1 May.

All dates remain subject to change, but the full opening schedule is now live in the Premier League’s official fixture release.
