The World Cup commences on Thursday, and this tournament is likely to slow transfer speculation and general movement on this front. However, the Gunners aren’t prepared to rest on their laurels regardless of what’s happening in North America, as sporting director Andrea Berta looks to pull off a handful of ambitious deals.
The likes of Bradley Barcola, Morgan Rogers and Sandro Tonali are being heavily linked with a switch to the Emirates, while a number of players are expected to make way. With that said, here is the latest Arsenal news today, including updates on Morgan Gibbs-White, Lamine Yamal and Leandro Trossard.
Morgan Gibbs-White linked with Arsenal

While Arsenal’s priority attacking midfield signing this summer is said to be Morgan Rogers, they are prepared to pivot to alternatives if the Aston Villa man proves to be too expensive. According to various reports, Morgan Gibbs-White has emerged as a target for the Gunners.
Gibbs-White enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 season for Nottingham Forest, netting 18 goals and providing seven assists across all competitions. This form has sparked interest from Arsenal, who are said to admire the playmaker’s versatility and creativity.
The Englishman signed a lucrative new contract at the City Ground last summer, after being the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur, and this would likely complicate a prospective deal.
Lamine Yamal’s mother calls Mikel Merino underrated

In a surprise revelation, Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal and his mother discussed an Arsenal player on the winger’s official YouTube channel. The wide forward was quizzed by a fan about players he believes are underrated.
His mother was present in the video, and after Yamal clarified to her what can be classified as an underrated player, she identified Merino as someone who fits the bill.
“Merino from Arsenal,” she said.
“I’m a big fan of Merino from Arsenal.”
“Okay, Fabian [Ruiz] and Merino,” Yamal replied.
Arsenal not actively looking to sell Leandro Trossard

Leandro Trossard’s future at Arsenal is up in the air as he enters the final year of his contract. Given this contractual situation and his age, this summer seems to represent a natural time for the two parties to part ways.
However, TEAMtalk report that Arsenal are not planning to push Trossard out the door. They value the Belgian and would only be willing to sanction his departure if a significant offer that reflects his value comes in.
This is despite reported interest from Besiktas, Atletico Madrid and clubs in Italy and Saudi Arabia.
