Arsenal News Today: Rogers update, Madueke’s claim, Semenyo’s admission

At a Glance:

  • Arsenal have done work on a prospective deal for Morgan Rogers behind the scenes.
  • Noni Madueke made a huge claim at the Gunners’ trophy parade.
  • Antoine Semenyo has heaped praise on an Arsenal player.

Premier League champions Arsenal are already drawing up plans for next season as they look to retain their title.

The Gunners ended their 22-year wait for a top-flight title, beating Manchester City to the piece of silverware by seven points. Mikel Arteta’s team then lost the Champions League final on Saturday evening, but that gutting blow didn’t prevent their supporters from celebrating this season’s triumphs at the parade on Sunday.

Over a million fans were present as the players rode on a bus through the streets of North London. Arteta and Andrea Berta are eager to see more of these scenes in years to come, and are mapping out ambitious transfer plans for this summer.

With that said, here is the latest Arsenal news today, including updates on Morgan Rogers, Noni Madueke and Antoine Semenyo.

What Arsenal have done behind the scenes on Morgan Rogers deal

Arsenal have been heavily linked with Morgan Rogers in recent days. Arteta personally admires the Aston Villa midfielder, and Berta is understood to be keen to enact a deal with the West Midlands club.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal have already reached out to the England international’s representatives and have asked to be kept informed about his situation at Villa Park.

While Villa are intent on keeping their star man, if Rogers actively pushes for a move, then the Gunners have a chance. That said, he could cost in excess of £80 million.

Noni Madueke makes trophy claim

Rival fans are unsurprisingly looking to downplay Arsenal’s achievements this season online, and certain Gunners players have bitten back. Noni Madueke indirectly referenced Djed Spence’s social media antics in one of his own posts celebrating the title win, and the England winger went a step further at the parade.

Taking the microphone whilst on the bus, Madueke announced to the fans: “We’re going to run it back, trust me, we’re going to run it back!”

“I don’t even know what our rivals are doing… they’re just participating. That’s it!”

Antoine Semenyo praises Max Dowman

The future is bright for Arsenal. Not only are they stable and well run, but they have a number of young talents developing through their academy.

The standout is obviously Max Dowman, and even those at other clubs are taking notice and actively looking to praise the youngster. Speaking to ESPN UK, Manchester City winger Antoine Semenyo was asked to pick a player who has played for Arsenal and worn Adidas’ iconic F50 boots.

He mentioned Dowman, and then added, without a prompt: “Max Dowman, he’s a player by the way.”

matchday.
