At a Glance:
- Arsenal are planning to make a few ambitious moves in the transfer window this summer.
- The likes of Morgan Rogers, Eli Junior Kroupi and Bradley Barcola have been linked.
- Left-wing is the priority, although they also want a midfielder and a full-back.
Arsenal’s title-defence planning is beginning to look more targeted, with new reporting pointing to a left-wing upgrade, midfield help and full-back depth as key areas for Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta.
The Athletic reports that Arsenal are preparing for an ambitious summer after winning the Premier League, with a left winger, a central midfielder and extra full-back cover all on the agenda.
The same report suggests the Gunners are monitoring several attacking names, including Morgan Rogers, Eli Junior Kroupi, Bradley Barcola and Mika Godts. It also notes that Piero Hincapie’s permanent move is set at £45 million, while possible exits around Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Fabio Vieira and Jakub Kiwior remain part of the wider squad picture.
Arsenal planning huge summer

This should be treated as a planning update rather than a confirmed transfer move. There is no confirmed bid for Barcola or Godts, and no agreement for Rogers or Kroupi. But the shape of the reporting is still useful because it points to Arsenal trying to improve from a position of strength rather than simply protect what they already have.
For Arsenal supporters, the left-wing detail is the sharpest part of this story.
Arteta already has Bukayo Saka as the fixed point on the right, while Eberechi Eze and Martin Odegaard give Arsenal quality between the lines. The question is whether the left side can become just as decisive. If Arsenal can add another direct, technically secure attacker there, it could make them less predictable when opponents load up on Saka.
That is why the range of names makes sense, even if the individual deals are at very different stages. Rogers offers Premier League power and versatility. Kroupi is more of a high-upside forward profile. Barcola would be an elite wide option but likely a very difficult deal. Godts looks like the younger development route.
The wider context for Arsenal

BBC Sport have already reported that Arsenal’s forward shortlist includes Rogers, Kroupi and Julian Alvarez, while also making clear that the club may need sales in forward areas to help fund the summer.
That is the awkward part. Arsenal can talk about adding another attacking weapon, but they also have to manage squad size, wages and player pathways. Jesus has been linked with a possible exit, Martinelli’s future has been discussed in reporting, Trossard is entering the final year of his deal, and Vieira’s future after his loan also needs resolving.
The positive read is that Arsenal are acting like champions. They are not waiting for the squad to go stale. The cautious read is that a crowded attacking market can quickly become expensive, especially when selling clubs know Arsenal have just won the league and reached a Champions League final.
