  • Goalkeepers play pivotal role in process.

Paris Saint-Germain are not accustomed to facing sides who are as proficient from set-piece situations as Arsenal.

While the masses expect PSG to beat Arsenal in the Champions League final, Mikel Arteta could stun Luis Enrique via set-pieces, which is arguably the English giants’ most dangerous weapon.

In the semi-final between both sides last season, Luis Enrique would have witnessed the threat that the Gunners pose from such situations. As per Squawka, Arsenal have scored the joint-most goals from corners (17) alongside Tottenham Hotspur in a single Premier League campaign this season.

Unlike the North Londoners, who are often criticised for their reliance on scoring set-pieces, PSG are praised for being exciting and playing some of the most attractive football in Europe.

How PSG appear to be readying themselves for Arsenal set-pieces

However, if Luis Enrique intends to win the Champions League final, the Spaniard’s side cannot ignore the possibility of Arsenal causing his PSG side problems from set-pieces.

Declan Rice is brilliant at taking set-pieces and so is Bukayo Saka while in last season’s contest at the Parc des Princes, the former even took several long throws to unsettle the French side.

RMC Sport have shared a video of PSG’s goalkeepers such as Matvei Safanov, Renato Martin and Arthur Vignaud using tackle bags on each other from behind while the other tries to claim the ball to simulate what a set-piece situation against Arsenal could be like.

After all, Mikel Arteta’s side have a tendency to surround the goalkeeper, block him and find ways to cause said opponent problems.

Nicolas Jover should change up set-piece tactics ahead of Champions League final

It seems like PSG are doing their homework on Arsenal’s set-pieces despite the final being more than two weeks away.

Nicolas Jover should perhaps make some tweaks to his side’s set-pieces to surprise the Parisians.

The French set-piece coach could go down as a true legend of the club if he manages to outfox the opposition.
