On Friday afternoon, Mikel Arteta revealed how Eberechi Eze’s personality adds so much value to this Arsenal side.

From the outside looking, the former Crystal Palace attacker has always come across as a bubbly and confident character.

However, Gary Lineker noticed Eze’s calmness as opposed to his teammates against Newcastle United and during the title run-in.

Eze shows personality on the pitch and has never seemed afraid to express himself. The 27-year-old’s latest stunner against Newcastle was reflective of his fearless approach to the game.

Mikel Arteta was quizzed about the Englishman seemingly embracing the pressure of winning silverware.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta praises ‘unique’ Eberechi Eze

Arteta replied via HaytersTV: “I think so, it’s a part of his character.”

The Spaniard went on to claim that while it is tough to read Eze from the outside, the midfielder’s personality brings a level of calmness to his teammates.

“He has a unique way of expressing himself. Inside, none of us know how he’s feeling. But what he actually transmits to the world outside is such a security and calmness and composure in every situation on the field. He does and especially the way he talks and connects with people, it’s very much like that. I think that’s something special.”

Eze idolises Thierry Henry, who was an incredible character himself. Mikel Arteta has claimed that it helps Arsenal to have a unique presence like he FA Cup winner.

“We need players like that, we need players that can have a different kind of presence on the pitch and body language and Ebs brings something unique and something very powerful to the team.”

Eberechi Eze is Arsenal’s X-factor

Eze is a match-winner and it is nigh-on impossible to win any piece of silverware without players like him for any side.

The Greenwich-born technician has magic in his boots and regardless of the circumstances, he possesses the quality to change the course of a game.

However, judging by Mikel Arteta’s revelation about Eze’s character, he seems to enjoy high-pressure situations as well; a trait that every elite player shares in common.

Perhaps Eze’s contagious calmness, keeping aside his stellar quality could be what leads Arsenal to silverware at the end of the season. If he steps up against Fulham on the weekend, Arteta’s assessment of the player will be vindicated.
