Manchester United and Arsenal have often had their sights set on signing the same players over the years.

One of them is Matheus Cunha, who Arsenal regret not signing. The Gunners feel that if Cunha was in their roster, they would have been clear frontrunners in the Premier League title race this season.

Another example that springs to mind is that of Benjamin Sesko. Sporting director Andrea Berta was against signing Sesko as he viewed the deal as a “bad” one, letting United secure the striker’s services.

This time around, both clubs have been linked with Ayyoub Bouaddi from LOSC Lille.

Man United could hold talks with Arsenal target Ayyoub Bouaddi

According to journalist Abdellah Boulma, Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are closely tracking Bouaddi.

The Frenchman is attracting interest from across Europe.

It has been claimed that Manchester United plan to hold talks with Bouaddi’s entourage.

The Red Devils have considered the possibility of utilising Sir Alex Ferguson’s services to “entice” the 18-year-old to join United.

Samir Nasri is a big fan of Ayyoub Bouaddi

While Samir Nasri may not be a popular figure at the Emirates Stadium, there is no doubting how brilliant a player he was.

Furthermore, Nasri was an incredibly talented youngster. As a result, the two-time Premier League winner’s eye for talent can be vouched for.

Last year, the former Gunners attacker praised Bouaddi via beIN SPORTS, saying: “He’s 17, but plays like someone [who is] 30. He’s calm, composed, has technical precision, intelligence in positioning, and is not afraid under pressure…he’s the one who controls Lille’s play.”

Only time will tell whether Mikel Arteta’s side win the race to sign Bouaddi or whether Sir Alex Ferguson can seal the teenager’s signing for Manchester United in the summer.
