19-year-old Bournemouth star could change Arsenal’s fortunes if signed next season

At a Glance:

  • Arsenal need some fresh faces in their attack
  • Premier League teenager could be a perfect signing for the future
  • Should not immediately be pressured to start despite hefty price tag

Consistency has been an issue for Arsenal all throughout the 2025/26 campaign, and a standout issue has been the lack of dynamism, combined with injury woes, in the Gunners’ attacking force.

While Viktor Gyokeres is a force to be reckoned with, he is not the quickest or most technical, and has seemed to struggle with the pace of Premier League play at times throughout the year.

Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz are both essentially nailed-on starters for Arsenal when fit, but both have dealt with injury problems. In their place, backups have struggled—such as Noni Madueke, who is a skillful player but lacks lethal final-third instinct.

Mikel Arteta needs multi-faceted talent with generational upside to raise the overall ability of the squad, and there is a teenager who has proved himself in the Premier League who, if his career pans out, may fit that bill entirely.

Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi has the talent to take Arsenal’s project to the next level

If you look at the top scorers in the 2025/26 Premier League season, there are some expected names—Erling Haaland, Antoine Semenyo, and Joao Pedro—combined with some unexpected ones, like Igor Thiago and Danny Welbeck.

Four players are tied in eighth place on the list. Two are England internationals, Ollie Watkins and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and another is the £80 million Liverpool summer signing Hugo Ekitike. The fourth? 19-year-old Eli Junior Kroupi.

Kroupi was signed by Bournemouth for £10 million in February 2025 from sister club Lorient, and has gone on to score 11 goals in 29 league games in his first full campaign in England, having spent the latter half of last season back out on loan to his previous club.

The 19-year-old has been credited for his shooting ability in a secondary striker role, as well as his pace and dribbling technique—all of which have been illustrated in his advanced statistics for the Cherries.

He ranks in the 93rd percentile for goal conversion rate and the 94th percentile for non-penalty goals for players in the top seven-ranked leagues in Europe, per DataMB.

In terms of his technical craft on the ball, Kroupi has an accurate long ball percentage of 66.7%, just over two-thirds, and while his dribbling stats are middling over the course of this year, this is still a teenager playing his first season in what is arguably the best league in the world.

While the specific price that Bournemouth would want for him is still unknown, anything around £60-70 million would be an amount that a team such as Arsenal would probably look for to acquire his talents.

But just how would he fit in at Arsenal?

Learning from current Arsenal attackers in a backup role could suit Kroupi

Although neither Viktor Gyokeres nor Kai Havertz have had an ideal season, both possess qualities that suit Eli Junior Kroupi. Gyokeres has a similar clinicalness to the Bournemouth man, while Havertz has the false nine tendencies that are commonly seen in second strikers.

If Kroupi is to make his way to the Emirates, then he might ideally want to be coming off the bench as a late burst of energy in close games before becoming a member of the starting 11, and using his first season at the club to learn under more experienced members of the squad.
