Julian Alvarez has been on Arsenal’s radar for a while and if Mikel Arteta’s side manage to sign him in the summer, the Argentine would be a blockbuster addition to their squad.

Julian Alvarez discounts Premier League return after playing for Man City
Mundo Deportivo have revealed that alongside Arsenal, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have expressed an interest in landing Alvarez. While Diego Simeone intends to keep Alvarez in the Spanish capital, a move to North London is believed to tempt the treble-winner.
However, it has also been reported that the two-time Premier League winner does not fancy a return to England after having played for Manchester City. As things stand, a move to Barcelona appeals the most to Alvarez instead.
PSG is also viewed as an “attractive project” by the decorated marksman due to the prospect of playing under Luis Enrique and living in Paris.
But Alvarez could say no to the champions of Europe due to their extraordinary attacking depth and Ligue 1 not having the “international reach” of other top leagues in the continent.
Three strikers Arsenal should target instead of Julian Alvarez
Ultimately, Mikel Arteta’s side will have to look beyond the former Manchester City star if they are looking to sign a new centre-forward.
While Pio Esposito intends to stay at Inter Milan, when a club of Arsenal’s stature calling, it is a tall task for players to snub them and that may occur if they persist with their interest in the Italian.
Esposito (20) is one of Europe’s most gifted young strikers and the same applies to Arsenal target Christian Kofane (19), who has amassed 15 goals and nine assists in all competitions this term.
While Eli Junior Kroupi may only have signed for AFC Bournemouth in the summer, his burgeoning rise at the Vitality Stadium is one that the Gunners should assess at the youngster’s availability.
