Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal remain focused on winning silverware – the Premier League and Champions League – before the 2025/26 campaign’s end but there is plenty of work being done behind the scenes, particularly on Jeremy Monga.

The Gunners’ pursuit of becoming the champions of England took a dent recently as they lost 2-1 to Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium but they are still in the driving seat.

They also have the upper hand in their two-legged Champions League tie against Sporting CP after winning the first encounter 1-0 away from home.

Irrespective of their success between now and the summer transfer window, the powers that be at N5 will be looking to add further bodies to their depleted-looking squad. Could they win the race for Leicester City’s Monga?

Arsenal among the clubs ‘preparing a formal approach’ for Jeremy Monga

Jeremy Monga – a ten-cap England Under-19 international is still just 16 years of age but is catching the attention of England’s finest clubs and that includes table-topping Arsenal.

TEAMtalk have revealed that Leicester’s teenage sensation has long been on the radar of many Premier League clubs.

Last summer, the Englishman reportedly snubbed a number of approaches as he looked to commit his future to the King Power Stadium outfit.

He signed on scholarship terms shortly after making his debut in England’s top flight – but now his side are flirting with the prospect of relegation to League One.

As things stand, the Foxes are 23rd in the Championship and have just six matches to turn their fortunes around. If they don’t, Monga could be on the move for cheap.

According to TEAMtalk’s sources, Monga is of interest to Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal – with all three teams poised to make formal approaches for the teen.

Alongside that, there are plenty of other sides in England’s top flight that are monitoring his situation as we approach what is going to be a crucial summer in Jeremy Monga’s career.

Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are among those interested, while other teams in Europe – Real Madrid, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund – are also informed about his development.

Leicester preparing to keep hold of their brightest talent

One thing is for sure: Jeremy Monga will not be short of suitors in the event that he leaves Leicester in the summer months. His current employers, however, are not letting go of the chance to extend his stay.

TEAMtalk sources have indicated that Leicester are planning to table a professional contract for the promising youngster as soon as he turns 17.

They believe the prospect of playing first-team football could convince him to stay rather than pursuing a career elsewhere, especially when he’d likely be put into the academy ranks.

Leicester’s fight to keep hold of the 2009-born talent will obviously be increasingly difficult given the calibre of clubs who are interested in the left winger, who has three goal involvements in the Championship this term.

A move to Arsenal would not guarantee senior minutes upon his arrival given that they already have their own wonderkid – Max Dowman – stamping his authority under Arteta.
