At A Glance:
- Arsenal are looking to bolster their attacking ranks across the summer months.
- Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers is among those on their shortlist.
- Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are also eyeing the forward.
Irrespective of what silverware they win before the season’s end, this summer could be a really important one for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal – and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is reportedly among those on the club’s summer shopping list.
Still on a three-pronged pursuit of silverware at the time of writing, the Gunners return to action this weekend – in the FA Cup against Southampton – after losing 2-0 to Manchester City at Wembley.
Despite their success to date, Arteta and his men are still working behind the scenes to narrow down their transfer search and find the perfect fit.

Such hefty spending last summer means that at least one first-team player needs to be sold this time around, but that will of course free up space and funds for further incomings to bolster the squad. Rogers is earmarked, but that is the case for many Premier League teams.
Rogers open to summer move, Arsenal and Chelsea circling
Ever since leaving Manchester City in 2023, Rogers’ career trajectory has been fun to watch. He joined Middlesbrough in a permanent deal before Villa came knocking just months later, keen to land a January deal for the Halesowen-born star.
That they did – and he’s since established himself as one of the most effective forwards in the Premier League, having plundered eight goals and five assists this season alone.
But could 2025/26 be his final hurrah in Villa colours? According to a report from The Sun, Rogers has not closed the door on a prospective move this summer.
That revelation comes after putting pen to paper on fresh terms at Villa Park in November 2025, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2031.
Chelsea and Liverpool admire the 13-cap England international but the Gunners are also involved in the race for his signature, it has been reported.

Among those also in the offing are Manchester United – but such interest in Rogers is to be expected given his enviable talent and favourable age.
The 23-year-old, according to the report, is keen to be part of a trophy-winning side.
An understanding between the player and the Villa Park higher-ups that this summer is the best time to part ways has been made too. Combine that with the fact that Unai Emery’s side are financially strained and Rogers is likely to move onto pastures new.
What with Liverpool losing Mohamed Salah, the reigning Premier League champions are exploring deals for attacking reinforcements and Chelsea are wary that Enzo Fernandez could move for Real Madrid.
Morgan Rogers’ chances for England at 2026 World Cup
After a solid season in Birmingham, Rogers looks a shoo-in for Thomas Tuchel, who will soon be narrowing down his 2026 World Cup squad for the summer.
Whether the 2002-born Englishman will start, however, is another question.
Jude Bellingham’s spot behind Harry Kane is somewhat safe (depending on whether Tuchel believes he is the right man for the job) and Marcus Rashford is likely to start on the left flank.
Rogers’ form for Emery and his entourage has certainly thrown his hat into the ring in terms of starting in the No10 position – but Bellingham is clearly the better player and has proved himself on that stage already.
Tuchel is an admirer of the Villa star, though, and he is expected to at least be on the plane for the Three Lions when they make the trip to north America.
