Gabriel Jesus arrived at Arsenal from Manchester City in the summer of 2022 and he was expected to bring trophy-winning expertise to the Gunners – and he’s played with all manner of talent.
All in all, the Brazilian has played 117 times for the Londoners since his arrival and, in that time, he’s plundered 31 goals and 22 assists.
The 28-year-old has seldom been a first-choice striker under the stewardship of Mikel Arteta and his staff.

Jesus’ time at the Emirates Stadium could be over this summer with Arsenal reportedly having to sell at least one first-teamer – but he’s named the most talented player at the London club.
Gabriel Jesus names best player at Arsenal
The 64-cap, 19-goal Brazil international played with an array of superstars in east Manchester – and that is still the notion in north London, including Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.
Neither Englishman, however, was named by the potentially-departing centre-forward when he named the most talented player in the squad.
Speaking to Brazilian legend Romario on Romario TV, he said: “I think I’ll go with [Gabriel] Martinelli, because I saw him, funnily enough, during the 2019 Copa America preparation.
“I think it was 2019, the national team always calls some youth players from certain clubs to train with us, right? There was a good young left winger. I said, ‘Wow, what a good kid’.
“Then at the start of the season here, I saw Martinelli at Arsenal, and I said, ‘I’ve seen this kid before’, and it was him.”
Watch Gabriel Jesus’ answer below (1:03 onwards):
Gabriel Martinelli, 24, joined the club from Ituano in the summer of 2019 and has made 267 appearances, notching 26 goals and 34 assists in the process.
“So, from early on, I was already watching him play at Ituano. Some of the things he does in daily life, in training, are different.
“Usually in the game it’s about what decides the match, but you have to see the player in training too, the details, the little things.”
Jesus and Martinelli both eyed by Atletico Madrid
Similarly to Gabriel Jesus, Martinelli’s future at the Emirates is not clear. Arteta and his men are currently eyeing new left-wing options – and the Brazilian could be offloaded to free up funds and space.
Incredibly, the two Brazilians are reportedly being eyed in a double swoop by La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid.
The Gunners would not stand in the way of any departure, it is understood, if either believed that moving to the Spanish capital would be best for their career.

At the time of writing, the Brazilian duo are both under contract until the summer of 2027 but neither are high on the pecking order at Arsenal.
Martinelli is not expected to extend his stay at Arsenal and Atleti’s interest could tempt the young winger into making a move this summer, potentially after becoming a Premier League champion.
