The FA Cup quarter-final draw has taken place, and Arsenal have subsequently discovered who they will face in this stage of the competition, as Mikel Arteta’s side continue their pursuit of an unprecedented quadruple.
The Gunners beat Mansfield Town on Saturday afternoon at Field Mill, courtesy of goals from Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze. This victory sealed their progression into the last eight of English football’s oldest competition, with the North Londoners looking to claim the piece of silverware they last secured in 2020.
Arteta’s outfit are riding high at the top of the Premier League, seven points clear of Manchester City, while they’re in the last 16 of the Champions League and the final of the Carabao Cup. No British team has ever won the quadruple, but this remarkable feat is gradually becoming more plausible for Arsenal.

Arsenal to face Southampton in FA Cup quarter-final tie
Seven Premier League teams were in Monday night’s FA Cup quarter-final draw, although one of Brentford or West Ham United won’t progress into the last eight. The two London sides face each other in Stratford to determine who joins the other seven sides.
Manchester City secured their place in the draw by impressively beating Newcastle United 3-1 at St. James’ Park on Saturday night. Chelsea joined them by narrowly edging past Wrexham, while Liverpool were victorious away at Wolves on Friday night. Leeds, Southampton and Port Vale were the other three sides in the hat, after beating Norwich, Fulham and Sunderland respectively.
After today’s draw, it’s now been confirmed that the Gunners will face Southampton at St. Mary’s. The tie will take place on either the 4th or 5th April, a few days before a potential Champions League quarter-final first leg.
Arteta’s team last played Southampton in May 2025, beating an already relegated Saints side 2-1 on the south coast.
Arsenal’s possible route to the FA Cup final
The bracket and route to the final hasn’t been mapped out yet, with a semi-final draw commencing after the conclusion of the quarter-final stage in early April.
However, we know that Arsenal will play the winners of one of the following three ties after Monday’s draw.
- Chelsea vs Port Vale
- Man City vs Liverpool
- West Ham/Brentford vs Leeds
The semi-final and final both take place at Wembley, on the 25th/26th April and 16th May respectively.
