Manchester United have reportedly ‘submitted a proposal’ to sign Arsenal-linked Erling Braut Haaland from Red Bull Salzburg, according to reports.
Over the past few months, the Gunners have been linked with both Haaland and his Salzburg team-mate Dominik Szoboszlai, but the Gunners shouldn’t waste their time on the former.
Haaland looks set to have the pick of some of the top European clubs after a breakthrough season for Salzburg, where he has already scored 26 goals.

There’s no denying that Haaland is an extremely talented young forward and his incredible form for the Austrian side has been one of the stories of the season so far.
Even if Arsenal are in the market for a striker over the summer, it looks like Haaland will very quickly eclipse them, despite being just 19 years of age.

Already the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid are being touted as potential destinations and the Gunners will simply be unable to rival this level of competition.
Manchester United’s interest is something of an anomaly. If it weren’t for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer currently being in charge of the club, they themselves would struggle to beat some of the competition being discussed.
Their interest is unique due to the relationship that the player himself holds with his fellow countryman. He is the manager who handed him his debut at Molde.
It’s the hard truth that Arsenal need to accept, without Champions League football they’ll simply be unable to attract this calibre of player in the current market. Their time would be better spent looking for alternative targets in a bid to get ahead of the rest.
