Arsenal fans have urged midfielder Matteo Guendouzi to play a role in the club’s pursuit of Dayot Upamecano on international duty.
The Gunners were heavily linked with a move for the central defender late in the summer window before settling on a deal for David Luiz, however, the Gunners could launch a move for the youngster in the new year.
Guendouzi started for France’s Under-21 side in the 5-0 win over Azerbaijan on Thursday, however, the RB Leipzig man failed to feature.

The pair will be around each other for four more days yet and could both turnout alongside each other against Slovakia’s U21 side on Tuesday.

Guendouzi will know of the interest regarding the defedner, so he could certainly get in the player’s ear over a future move.
Unai Emery is desperate to resolve his defensive woes in the new year, and bringing in Upamecano could be a shrewd piece of business.
He could end up partnering fellow French youngster William Saliba next season, however, he’ll come at a high price if the Gunners are successful with an offer in January.
Guendouzi is already a fan favourite at the Emirates, so if he can lay the seed to a move, he’ll certainly increase his popularity in north London.
