Arsenal are reportedly leading rivals Tottenham in the race for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos – but would an imminent Gunners move be a smart one?

Sky Sports have revealed that the 22-year-old has been left out of Real Madrid’s squad for the forthcoming International Champions Cup tournament in America, which looks to have increased the possibility of the Spaniard making the move to the Emirates.

A deal for Ceballos looks set to be a temporary loan move with an option to buy the player at a later date.

The creative midfielder recently played a starring role in Spain’s Under-21 triumph, showing Gunners fans exactly just what he would bring to the squad.

Ceballos is technically brilliant, has a high range of passing and also has an eye for goal, so would fill the void left by Aaron Ramsey with ease.

Even though it looks likely that a move for the player would be for the upcoming 2019/20 campaign only, he would certainly provide Unai Emery with the flair needed in midfield to supply the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

Will Ceballos make the move to Arsenal this summer?
