Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who has been linked with moves to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and even Tottenham, says he will not leave the Gunners in January.
Ramsey’s contract at the Emirates will expire at the end of the season and the Welshman says that will be when he moves on from Arsenal.
As reported in the Independent, when asked if he’d be staying at Arsenal for the entire 2018/19 season, Ramsey said:
Of course, yeah. I am contracted to Arsenal and I am going to do my best now this season to try and achieve something special.
Ramsey went on to explain that he thought he was close to signing a new deal but the club changed their minds, meaning he’s set to become a free agent.
Everything has been going great with the club. We thought we were in a position where we had agreed a deal, but that’s no longer the case. That’s a decision that they have made and things happen in football. So I just have to carry on playing my football and do my best for Arsenal this season and I’ll leave the rest with the club now.
Liverpool are the favourites to sign the Welshman, but they’ll face competition from Manchester United and a few Serie A sides, but it looks like all interested parties will need to wait until the summer to get their man.
