Arsenal make big money move for Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marcotta

Arsenal have made an offer to outgoing Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta, according to a report in Calcio Mercato.

The Italian has been CEO of Juventus since 2010, in addition to being general manager of “Sports Area”, a sporting ownership conglomerate.

Having served in leadership roles at various Italian clubs, Marotta spent six years at Sampdoria before joining the Turin-based outfit.

Under his guidance, “The Old Lady” have won seven consecutive Serie A titles, and have appeared twice in eh Champions League final.

The now 61-year-old has also overseen the signing of stars such as Paul Pogba, Gonzalo Higuain, Andrea Pirlo, and most recently Cristiano Ronaldo.

Arsenal are reported to have tabled a €3.5 million-a-year offer to bring Marotta to North London, although Internazionale are also suggested to be in the race for the chief executive.

Change is afoot at Arsenal, with Stan Kroenke now alone as the majority shareholder, Unai Emery in as manager, and possibly Giuseppe Marotta in as a new CEO.
