A disappointing first half by the Arsenal players was summed up by the cold, rainy Monday night that the fans had to sit through.
The Gunners were able to prevent the threat of Christian Benteke, Philippe Coutinho and co. but were unable to score themselves, although an Aaron Ramsey goal was certainly wrongly disallowed for offside, a shocking decision.
Arsenal came out much, much better in the second half and will take solace from the fact that they created so many chances and threatened the Liverpool goal on a number of occasions, but were unable to get the ball past Simon Mignolet.
On an evening of many negatives, Petr Cech’s world-class performance leading to a solid clean sheet is perhaps the only positive for the side to take away, proving that he is worth every penny of the £11m fee paid to Chelsea for the 33-year-old’s services.
It wasn’t a win, but it was another point on the board, so have a look at the game in pictures.
