Eberechi Eze earned an 8/10 rating from talkSPORT’s Adrian Durham after his second-half contribution to England’s 2-0 victory over Czechia.
The Arsenal midfielder replaced club teammate Myles Lewis-Skelly at the interval, with the match still goalless.
Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane subsequently scored to secure England’s first victory of their Nations League campaign.
Eberechi Eze England performance draws praise
Durham’s assessment for talkSPORT placed Eze among eight England players awarded 8/10.
His introduction gave him a full half to influence the contest, rather than a brief appearance near the end.
England’s official match report highlighted an effort that forced Matej Kovar into a save, although Eze also sent another opportunity over the bar.
There was no goal to crown his evening, but the positive assessment offered encouragement after recent scrutiny of his club role.
Arsenal challenge remains
Read Arsenal has examined the competition for places shaping Eze’s situation under Mikel Arteta.
A productive international appearance gives him something to build on. It does not settle his position in Arsenal’s starting XI.
The next step is consistency: making an impact when opportunities arrive and giving Arteta stronger reasons to select him.
Tuesday provided a welcome positive before the return to club football.
