Arsenal interest in Yan Diomande has suffered a fresh setback after the winger declined to encourage an approach from the Premier League champions.
Manchester City have received the same response, while Real Madrid are pushing to sign the RB Leipzig teenager.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal and City contacted Diomande’s representatives during the past 10 days. However, the Ivory Coast international is currently “not opening doors” to either club.
Real Madrid are the only side described as going “all in” for the 19-year-old. Their opening offer of €90million plus €10million in add-ons was rejected by Leipzig, but negotiations are continuing.
The German club are seeking more than €100million for Diomande, whose contract runs until 2030. Real are expected to return with an improved proposal after making their interest clear.
ReadArsenal previously reported that Arsenal had contacted Diomande’s representatives to determine whether there was an opportunity to enter negotiations. The latest update suggests those enquiries have not encouraged the player to reconsider his preferred options.

Arsenal have considered adding another winger since Morgan Rogers joined Chelsea. Diomande’s direct running and ability to operate from either flank would provide a different option within Mikel Arteta’s attack.
However, the size of Leipzig’s valuation already made a deal difficult. Arsenal would also need to convince Diomande before entering serious club-to-club negotiations.
Real Madrid have moved more decisively by submitting a written offer worth up to €100million. Although Leipzig rejected it, the proposal has established the Spanish club as the most active contender.
Arsenal could return if Diomande’s position changes or Real fail to agree a fee. For now, Arsenal interest in Yan Diomande remains exploratory, with the player giving no indication that he wants a move to the Emirates Stadium.
