Arsenal have joined the race to sign West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville after his sharp start to the 2026 World Cup with the Netherlands.
West Ham are understood to have set an initial valuation of around €50million, though that figure could rise if his international form continues.
Summerville has become one of the more intriguing market cases of the summer.
West Ham’s official profile records that he scored on his World Cup debut against Japan on 14 June, adding another layer to a season in which he had already rebuilt momentum in east London.
Arteta Gets Fresh Left-Wing Option
Arsenal’s interest is logical.
Mikel Arteta wants extra threat from the left side of attack, and Summerville offers direct running, one-v-one aggression and Premier League experience.
That matters because he would not need the same adaptation period attached to many overseas targets.
The wider context also matters.
West Ham’s relegation has placed several first-team assets under scrutiny, while Arsenal are trying to strengthen from a position of power after winning the Premier League.
Summerville would not arrive as a guaranteed starter, but his profile gives Arteta a different route to goal when opponents lock down Bukayo Saka’s side of the pitch.
ReadArsenal has already covered how Gabriel Martinelli’s future has become a ruthless summer decision, and Summerville belongs in that same left-wing conversation.
No formal Arsenal bid has been confirmed, and competition remains active.
But with Summerville’s World Cup stock rising quickly, this is the kind of transfer race Andrea Berta may need to move on before the price hardens.
