Paris Saint-Germain have been punished by UEFA following their Champions League final win over Arsenal, adding a fresh disciplinary layer to a night that already sits heavily in north London.
That ban has been suspended for a two-year probationary period.
The French club were also fined €10,875 for the throwing of objects, taking the total sanction to €90,875 after the 1-1 draw in Budapest, which PSG eventually won 4-3 on penalties.
Arsenal Final Pain Gets Another Footnote
For Arsenal, the punishment changes nothing about the outcome, but it does keep the final in the news cycle weeks after Mikel Arteta’s side were denied a first Champions League crown.
The Gunners will return to the competition next season as Premier League champions, with the league-phase draw set to shape their European route in August.
As covered in Arsenal’s Champions League opponent picture, Arteta’s side are already positioned among the elite names waiting for the draw.
There is no immediate sporting consequence for Arsenal, but UEFA’s decision underlines how chaotic the final backdrop became.
PSG keep the trophy. Arsenal keep the frustration. The disciplinary record now carries its own official stain.
