Arsenal Agree Jeremy Monga Fee As Youth-First Transfer Plan Continues

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a fee with Leicester City for 16-year-old winger Jeremy Monga.

The deal would move Mikel Arteta’s side closer to landing one of English football’s most coveted young attackers.

The teenager has been on Arsenal’s radar throughout the early summer window. The Gunners have pushed to add another elite academy-age talent to a pathway that already includes Max Dowman, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal have reached an agreement with Leicester over a deal worth around £10million.

The transfer has not yet been officially announced by either club, so supporters should still wait for confirmation before treating it as complete.

Monga Deal Would Underline Arsenal’s Youth-First Squad Build

Monga became Leicester’s second-youngest Premier League player when he made his senior debut at 15 years and 271 days.

He then built on that breakthrough with regular Championship minutes. talkSPORT reports that he made 27 league appearances last season, scoring once and adding two assists.

His pace, direct carrying and left-sided threat have made him a target for several Premier League and European clubs.

That makes Arsenal’s reported agreement more significant.

This is not just another academy punt. It is a move for a player who has already handled senior football before turning 17.

ReadArsenal has already covered how Andria Bartishvili’s denial left Arsenal in a live transfer race. Monga fits the same wider pattern: Arsenal are trying to win early races for high-upside talent before prices climb further.

For Arteta’s champions, the significance is bigger than one youth signing.

Arsenal are strengthening the first-team group while also protecting the next cycle. Monga would arrive as a long-term attacking project rather than an instant senior starter.

After earlier reports of a rejected bid, an agreed fee would represent a clear step forward.

Now Arsenal need the final details to follow.
