Arsenal expect Gabriel Jesus to leave this summer, and Andrea Berta has subsequently set a clear asking price for the striker.

Jesus played just under 1,000 minutes across all competitions last season after returning from his ACL injury, scoring six goals in the process. This lack of game time made it evident that he’s now deemed surplus to requirements by Mikel Arteta, and given he has just a year remaining on his current deal, now seems like a natural time to part ways.

The Gunners have been linked with Junior Kroupi, but the Bournemouth number nine is only likely to be able to complete a switch to the Emirates if Jesus makes way.

Jesus has endured a tumultuous last few years. Constantly plagued by injury issues, he sustained an ACL tear in January 2025, which put him out of action for the best part of a year.

While he returned mid-way through the 2025/26 campaign and scored a handful of goals, he didn’t look the same physically as he did before this succession of injuries. The Brazilian is now looking for a new home, and Arsenal are willing to grant him this wish, if an offer of a certain value comes in.

According to the Standard, Berta has placed a £20 million price tag on Jesus. The Italian has no plans to engage in new contract talks with the former Manchester City man, but also won’t be willing to sanction his departure for a fee that doesn’t at least come close to this valuation.

Jesus did not make Brazil’s World Cup squad, so there shouldn’t be major delays regarding negotiations with prospective suitors. Clubs in Italy and Brazil have been mooted as possible destinations for the 29-year-old.

Arsenal’s wider squad-picture

The Standard provided a more holistic look at Arsenal’s squad in their report.

Morgan Rogers is reportedly top of Arteta’s wishlist, with the Gunners looking to pursue the Aston Villa midfielder aggressively in the coming weeks. The West Midlands club are reportedly looking for a fee in the region of £100 million for the England international.

Elsewhere, Myles Lewis-Skelly’s late-season midfield resurgence is reportedly prompting a rethink in this department of Mikel Arteta’s squad. The teenager performed excellently in the last few weeks of the campaign in the middle of the park, and Arsenal may now not make a big move in this position as a result.

The Standard also suggests that Arsenal would listen to substantial offers for Ethan Nwaneri, while Fabio Vieira is now expected ton be in the first-team picture next season.
