Arsenal must be the envy of every club in the Premier League as they are on the verge of winning the Premier League and the Champions League this season after beating Atletico Madrid.

On Tuesday night, Arsenal outclassed Atletico Madrid to reach the Champions League final and Manchester City’s 3-3 draw against Everton puts them in pole position to win the league.

Academy graduate Bukayo Saka scoring the winning goal against the Spanish giants to confirm his side’s latest victory seems to be a sign that the club could be on course to have a fairytale season.

Mikel Arteta’s incredible rise has led the Gunners on the brink of making history, with Jamie Carragher having a lot to say about his cohort’s most recent heroics.

Carragher told CBS Sports that the Emirates Stadium being a joyous place as Arsenal fans witnessed their side trounced Atletico Madrid is a rare sight in the Champions League. Often, such landmark moments occur away from home in Europe.

“Because of the nature of the Champions League, it’s difficult to have moments like this because if you win a final, it’s at a neutral ground or if you win a semi-final, normally, that’s at a neutral ground.”

However, Jamie Carragher admitted that he is “jealous” as Arsenal fans have managed to see their side have one of the nights of their lives beating Atletico Madrid.

“There’s something about, I’ve been in that position a couple of times, the second leg’s at your ground and if you can win it, that moment with players and fans, when you see that connection, they’re nights that those supporters will never forget.

“That night and they want more of those to come and make it a regular thing of getting to the Champions League but I love that and it almost makes me jealous that it’s not my own team. When you see that connection, the faces of the supporters, that’s why you support your team home and away.”

How Arsenal fan Bukayo Saka reacted to reaching Champions League final

Mikel Arteta will be determined to make the next couple of weeks even more special for Arsenal fans in the league and in the Champions League by getting over the line in both competitions.

Even Saka was emotional after Arsenal overcame Atletico Madrid, as he fell to his knees and prayed. But even other key members of the Gunners’ setup were equally delighted.

  • Noni Madueke and Gabriel Magalhaes did the same as Saka.
  • Mikel Arteta could not stop running around.
  • Gabriel and William Saliba were wrestling.
  • Martin Odegaard pounded the ground out of sheer joy.

After six years of failing to win any trophies, the English giants have the chance to have a historic season.

Most supporters from other clubs must be feeling exactly like Jamie Carragher after watching the incredible scenes at the Emirates Stadium after Arsenal’s triumph against Atletico Madrid.
