Mikel Arteta will need no reminding of the fact that Arsenal will have to be at their brilliant best to defeat Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final next week.
The same applies to Diego Simeone, who lauded Arsenal in the aftermath of the 1-1 draw between both sides on Wednesday night.
The Gunners have reached the Champions League final once in their history and they will have to put in a special display to make history next Tuesday.
Arsenal turned up against Atletico Madrid but the tie is far from over and the Spanish giants will be raring to upset the hosts at the Emirates Stadium.
Gabriel Martinelli was tamed by Atletico Madrid but after the game, he was bullish about the mouth-watering clash in North London.
Gabriel Martinelli says Arsenal will rewatch Atletico Madrid game
Speaking via HaytersTV, Martinelli revealed that Arsenal will rewatch their contest against Atletico Madrid in preparation of the second leg.
The £6 million (GOAL) man said: “We wanted to come here and win the game. But at the end, it’s a battle against a really good team at their place. As I said, we take the draw. We are going to rewatch the game and see the things that we did wrong and try to improve for the next one.”
Martinelli was also asked whether he is “confident” Arsenal will reach the Champions League final.

He replied: “Yeah, of course, we know how big the club is and we trust in ourselves.”
Atletico Madrid’s poor away record is good news for Arsenal ahead of semi-final second leg
Ultimately, the entire Arsenal squad should have Martinelli’s self-assured outlook ahead of their next game against Atletico Madrid.
Furthermore, Diego Simeone’s side have a poor away record, which is another reason why the Gunners should back their chances to win.
| Atletico Madrid’s away record this season | Stats |
| Matches | 28 |
| Wins | 12 |
| Draws | 7 |
| Losses | 9 |
Atletico Madrid have played 28 away games, winning a mere nine while drawing seven and losing 12.
The numbers don’t favour the side from the Spanish capital and based on their record, it is difficult not to adjudge Arsenal as favourites ahead of the second leg.
