Ahead of the crucial first leg against Atlético Madrid in Spain, Arsenal fans had every reason to be concerned, with several key players under injury doubts.
Both Eberechi Eze and Kai Havertz were taken off as precautionary measures in the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Newcastle, and Gabriel Martinelli looked to have a hamstring problem at the tail end of the game, too.
Meanwhile, Jurrien Timber, who has a groin injury, and Riccardo Calafiori, who came off after the first leg against Sporting in the Champions League quarter-finals, have been questionable as to when their returns will be.
If the Gunners’ training personnel is anything to go by, it seems like there is both good and bad news for the Arsenal faithful ahead of tonight’s clash at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Eze, Martinelli, and Calafiori all seen training while Timber and Havertz remain out
football.london reports that Eberechi Eze is back training with the team despite an early substitution against Newcastle, which saw the 27-year-old score a wonderful goal for Arsenal earlier in the game.
Gabriel Martinelli is also training with the team, with the Brazilian doubtful after seemingly not looking right at the tail end of Arsenal’s most recent Premier League match.
Riccardo Calafiori, who was rumoured to be making his return to the bench against Newcastle, did not make the squad list that day—but has also been seen in training and might be involved versus Atletico.
Jurrien Timber is to miss yet another game following the injury he picked up in early March, with the Dutch defender potentially a key piece in Arsenal’s final stretch of the season if he can return soon.
Kai Havertz, who, similar to Eze, also went off as a precautionary measure versus Newcastle, was not seen in training and will presumably not be involved in the first leg of the semi-final affair.
