Arsenal now considered the ‘most genuine’ suitors for Morgan Rogers

At a Glance:

  • Morgan Rogers has been one of the best players for Aston Villa this season
  • Has interest from three Premier League clubs
  • Could be swayed by a move to European champions PSG

There are a myriad of options in terms of attacking players that Arsenal could sign heading into the 2026/27 season, and a couple of names that they might not want to miss out on.

Similar to Matheus Cunha, who Arsenal missed out on last summer, Morgan Rogers is a proven Premier League forward who excels at chance creation and ball-carrying, and both Cunha and Rogers have made their names at a non-Big Six team.

The struggles of Noni Madueke, who has shown glimpses of what he could be, and the intended goal-getter Viktor Gyokeres, who has turned his fortunes around somewhat but still leaves room for desire, have only strngthened the need for Arsenal to look for a player to bolster their attack.

New reports suggest that Rogers and Arsenal could indeed become a thing in summertime—but that other clubs are also starting to flirt with the idea of signing the 23-year-old.

Morgan Rogers could be persuaded by Paris Saint-Germain, but Premier League clubs still interested

A Champions League matchup in the knockout stages of last season’s competition reportedly left Morgan Rogers impressed with the state of affairs at Paris Saint-Germain, influenced mainly by the atmosphere of the Parc des Princes.

TalkSPORT also report that Rogers is interested in joining the reigning European champions, and given that Khvicha Kvaratshkelia could be on the way out—and Arsenal have shown interest—it would open up a slot on the left-wing for the Villa man, who can play as both a winger and a number 10.

It is likely that one of Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard would depart the club to make way for Rogers—PSG are reportedly interested in Martinelli too—as Arsenal have identified the left-wing spot as a position of need thanks to less-than-ideal output.

Rogers has nine goals and five assists for his Birmingham-based club in the Premier League this campaign, and it is not only Arsenal who are interested. Manchester United and Chelsea have also expressed interest, clearly tempted by the ex-Middlesborough man who could cost up to £80m.

How would Morgan Rogers fit in at Arsenal?

The somewhat complex relationship between Arsenal and captain Martin Odegaard mean that, despite form and injury issues for the Norwegian consistently popping up, it does not seem like Morgan Rogers would take on the creative midfielder role at the club as a number 10.

It is much more likely that Arsenal will, as previously mentioned, move on from one of Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard, with Rogers offering much more attacking flair at Villa compared to either of the Arsenal duo.

Known for his high shot accuracy rate and ability to convert, as well as driving with the ball, it would seem as if Rogers could add that extra bit of clinicality to Arsenal’s attack on the left-hand side, provided he meshes well with dual-threat left-back Riccardo Calafiori.
