Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League in what is set to be another significant game in determining the outcome of the title race.
The Gunners thrashed Tottenham Hotspur last time out and will be looking to build on this positive result when they entertain their other fierce London rivals. Meanwhile, Chelsea will be eager to respond to their recent negative results, which include back-to-back home draws against Burnley and Leeds.
The Blues are involved in an intense race for Champions League qualification, competing with Aston Villa, Manchester United and Liverpool for what is likely to be three spots.
Mikel Arteta should have Kai Havertz available for the visit of the German’s former club, while Martin Odegaard is fit again following a handful of recent setbacks. Elsewhere, Ben White remains a doubt, and Mikel Merino will likely miss the rest of the season with a foot injury.
As for Chelsea, Liam Rosenior will be without Wesley Fofana, who was sent off for two yellow card offences last time out against Burnley. The English head coach will also be without long-term absentees Levi Colwill and Jamie Gittens, while Marc Cucurella, Filip Jorgensen, Dario Essugo, Romeo Lavia and Estevao are all doubts.
Given Arsenal’s home advantage, as well as Chelsea’s injury problems and poor form, Arteta’s side should be able to successfully navigate their way through this encounter and secure all three points.
