Arsenal have announced that season tickets are set to rise for a fifth year in a row and fans have been left feeling ‘disappointed’. Safe standing at the Emirates Stadium will also be introduced from the 2026/27 campaign onwards.
For the 2026/27 campaign, the Gunners are offering supporters two types of season tickets – a 23-match deal which includes Champions League home matches and a 19-match offer that covers just the Premier League.
Arsenal, for the betterment of the Emirates Stadium faithful, froze the majority of prices between 2014 and 2022 but next season will be the fifth time in a row where fans will have to pay more than the previous term.
Arsenal to increase season ticket prices for fifth consecutive year
By virtue of rising costs and an unprecedented level of demand for tickets, Arsenal have opted to raise prices for a fifth consecutive year. Arsenal’s higher-ups have defended the decision as a necessary step toward financial sustainability.
It was the natural progression for a club in the Premier League given that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are also among those to have increased the price of a season ticket in years gone by.
On average, the cost of a general admission season ticket will increase by 3.9 percent – and Arsenal Supporters’ Trust (AST) have responded. They said:
“We are disappointed that the FSA’s ‘Protect the Fans, Protect the Game’ proposals calling for a ticket price freeze across all Premier League clubs has not been taken up. Neither the Premier League nor Arsenal have seriously engaged with the idea that a freeze at all clubs would help stop the ‘arms race’.
“We firmly believe that with the football sector benefitting from ever-increasing broadcast and commercial revenues it is time to stop squeezing match-going supporters so hard.
“We now expect both Arsenal and the Premier League to give more explanation as to why they have chosen to ignore the compelling case for a price freeze put forward by the ‘Protect the Fans, Protect the Game’ campaign, which was overwhelmingly backed by supporters including all representative members of the Arsenal Advisory Board (AAB).”
Earlier this season, The Athletic worked out the most expensive adult season tickets for each Premier League club – and Arsenal (£1,726) placed them third. The new cost of a season ticket will stand at £1,835.
The Gunners, however, plan to continue offering concessions. That means that Under-18s get their season ticket on a half-price deal and there is a 25 percent discount for attendees aged between 19 and 24.
Safe standing to be introduced in Arsenal’s Clock End lower tier
In brighter news, the club have also announced the introduction of safe standing. From 2026/27, home and away fans in the Clock End lower tier will be able to use safe standing rails while watching their respective teams in the flesh.
Safe standing, in 2027/28, will then be introduced to the North Bank, taking Arsenal’s overall tally of fans making use of the facilities to 13,500.
Large portions of the Clock End and North Bank lower tiers have been “safe standing” environments for years but the AST have welcomed the idea officially after a ten-year stretch of campaigning.
“It shouldn’t have taken this long and some of the reasons Arsenal have put forward over the years for not introducing safe standing have been obstructive,” they wrote in a statement.
“But we give credit to Richard Garlick [CEO] and his executive team who have recognised the important of the issue to fans. Club and fans can now move forward together.”
